Costa Rica is home to both active  and dormant volcanoes, many of which, such as Arenal, Poas, and Rincon de la Vieja  are now protected areas that teem with wildlife and exciting activities. The volcanic  origin of the country means  thermal springs  wind their way through the dense jungle landscape, and provide ample opportunities to soak the day away in luxurious spas and accommodations that utilize these healing waters from the earth. Cloud forests invite visitors to come observe the spectacle of a fairytale landscape,  while the coasts contain endless stretches of gorgeous beaches, a paradise where jungle meets the sand and one can immerse themselves in the laidback Pura Vida lifestyle.

Visitors to this small country will be stunned at the abundance of wildlife that is ever present. Over 850 species of birds have been documented, 10% of the worlds total in all their varied shapes, sizes, and colors. Anteaters, tapirs, 6 species of cats, four species of monkey, and an extensive list of other mammals both familiar and unfamiliar wander the forests, jungles, and coasts of this beautiful, lush landscape. It is one of those special places in the world where one can just sit and watch an endless parade of some of tropics' most iconic wildlife.
